Translucent Vellum

Vellum is a translucent sheet that is often used in a layer with an invitation.

Either the invitation wording is printed on the vellum, or a picture or design is printed on the vellum, and the words are printed on the invitation.

Vellum is difficult to photograph by itself, so we have combined it with invitations pictured below with three different invitation treatments to illustrate your options.

The vellum we sell comes in packs of 50 sheets, in 40 lb. weight, and is specifically designed for laser or inkjet printing.

Vellum Sizes

5" x 7" - fits single panel card, bifold, and trifold invitations

5.5" x 7.75" - fits single panel cards

7" x 7" - fits Royal-style invitations.

5.5" x 5.5" - fits Marquise-style invitations.

8 1/2" x 11" - Also fits trifold and is also used as an inner sheet for programs.

In these three views, the invitations are printed on the vellum, with a complimentary image printed on the card itself. Alternatively, the card may be printed with the invitation, and the vellum overlay is printed with a design. Very careful layout and testing is recommended for this treatment.

Vellum may be attached by punching two holes with a hole punch in the top of the invitation as in pictures 1 and 3, then using a ribbon or decorative cord--there are many possibilities!

We sell organza ribbon in up to 33 colors to match any bridal color scheme. Full-size vellum (8.5" x 11") may be folded and used in wedding programs, bifold or trifold cards as an enclosure sheet--attach with staples or ribbon.
